Script India ("we", "us", "our") operates the Script India Store Billing application (the "Service") — a cloud-based GST billing, barcode inventory and customer management platform for Indian retailers, shopkeepers and distributors. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how it is used and protected when you use the Service.

1. Information We Collect

Account & business information — store name, owner name, email, phone number, GSTIN, business address, bank/UPI details, and business signature/logo you upload for use on invoices.

Customer & supplier records — names, phone numbers, addresses, GSTIN and outstanding balances that you enter into the Service to manage your own customers and suppliers. This data belongs to you; we process it only to operate the Service on your behalf.

Transaction data — invoices, purchase bills, quotations, purchase orders, credit/debit notes, expenses, and payment vouchers you create in the Service.

Documents you upload — scanned purchase bills, bank statements and similar documents you choose to import, including where processed using AI/OCR to auto-fill data.

Payment information — when you subscribe or renew a plan, payment is processed by our payment partner, Razorpay. We store the plan amount, order/payment reference IDs and payment status; we do not store your card, UPI or bank credentials.

Communication data — if you configure your own SMTP or WhatsApp Business API credentials within the Service, we use them solely to send emails/messages on your instruction (e.g. invoices, reminders) to your customers.

Usage & log data — login activity, device/browser information and basic diagnostic logs used to keep the Service secure and reliable.

2. How We Use Information

• To provide, operate and maintain the Service, including billing, inventory, GST reports and printing.
• To process subscription payments and send related receipts and reminders.
• To provide customer support and respond to your requests.
• To send service-related communications, such as subscription expiry reminders.
• To improve the Service, diagnose issues and prevent fraud or misuse.
• To comply with applicable legal and tax record-keeping obligations.

3. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your data. We share information only with:

• Razorpay — to process subscription payments.
• Email/SMS/WhatsApp providers you configure — to deliver messages you initiate.
• AI/OCR processing providers — solely to extract data from documents you choose to scan/import.
• Law enforcement or regulators — only where required by law.

4. Data Security

We use industry-standard safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), password hashing, and access controls, to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we encourage you to use a strong password and keep your login credentials confidential.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account and transaction data for as long as your account is active, and thereafter as required to meet accounting, tax and legal obligations. You may request deletion of your account data by contacting us, subject to statutory retention requirements (e.g. GST/invoice records).

6. Your Rights

You may access, correct, export or request deletion of your personal information by contacting us at contact@scriptindia.in. If you believe your data has been misused, you may raise a grievance with our Grievance Officer at the same email address.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for business use and is not directed at individuals under 18.

9. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
